Fixed Fee HR retainers

Worklaw provides ongoing employment law advice to businesses on a retainer basis. In essence, we act as your human resources department. Your business pays a flat-rate monthly fee for all necessary employment law advice during that month. The fixed fee includes;
  • a 24/7 helpline; plus
  • employment law advice by email. fax or letter, as well as by telephone
  • drafting any needed employment law paperwork, such as
  • contracts for casual employees
  • contracts for sales staff earning commission
  • a zero-hour contract; etc, etc; plus
  • drafting any other employment law paperwork, such as;
  • job offer letters
  • dismissal letters
  • opt-out agreements, etc, etc.; plus
  • any other advice and assistance on employment law.

The fixed fee is based on the number of employees a business has at the rate of £10 per calendar month for each employee (VAT not included). So, if you have 5 employees, the fixed fee would be £50 per month (VAT not included).

Employment law training/seminars

Worklaw also provides in-house training for managers on all aspects of employment law.

The fee is either £300 per half-day or £500 per day (VAT not included), plus travel (charged at cost) to do the training.

The training/seminar sessions include all relevant, up to date handouts.

General advice on 'ad hoc' basis

Worklaw offer up to free advice for up to 15 minutes to an employer. Thereafter the fee for advice by telephone, email, fax or letter, is at the rate of £1 per minute (VAT not included).

Dealing with a specific employment law situation (e.g., a TUPE transfer)

Our fixed fees for work (other than representation in an employment tribunal case or fixed-fee retainers) are based on a hourly rate of £60 per hour (VAT not included), and we agree the maximum number of hours the work will take at the time you instruct us.

Defending an Employment Tribunal claim

Worklaw can defend an employment tribunal case against your business for a low fixed fee.

The fixed fee for work done in preparation of the defence against an employment tribunal claim is £750 (VAT not included).

The preparation fee includes one visit to your business premises.

It also includes settlement negotiations, which are usually through an ACAS conciliator.

If the case is not settled, through ACAS or otherwise, our daily fee for attending an employment tribunal hearing is £500 (VAT not included).

So, our fee for a one-day employment tribunal case would be £1,250 (VAT not included), plus any necessary expenses (such as travelling, photocopying and postage) which are charged at cost. A maximum amount for necessary expenses is agreed with you at the time we agree to take on your case.

VAT

All fees quoted do not include VAT. All of our employment law consultants work on a self-employed basis, and some of our consultants are registered for VAT and some are not. Whether or not VAT is payable depends on which consultant is allocated to your case.
